Quantum Untangled was an interdisciplinary art and science exhibition at Science Gallery London, King's College London, running from October 2025 to February 2026 across two first-floor galleries and the ground floor. Works included Conrad Shawcross's The Blind Proliferations and the ground-floor installation Quantum Jungle.
KitMapper developed the 3D exhibition design and build plan for all three zones, then built it under contract to King's. That meant a smooth MDF perimeter in Gallery One, timber-framed internal walls clad in the gallery's existing flats, ballasted freestanding walls, blackout for light-sensitive works and a false ceiling above Shawcross's piece. On the ground floor we built a timber-framed wedge to house Quantum Jungle, with a lockable hatch for access to the artwork computer.
We specified the wayfinding points and label formats, made two intro panels on castors, oversaw the integration of graphics, and supplied technicians to install AV, adjust lighting and support artists through install and deinstall.
After the show we made good the galleries and sent 1,563 kg of timber, MDF, plinths and fittings on for reuse, most of it to build affordable artists' studios in Camberwell and the rest to the UAL swap shop for students.
