Modern Slavery Policy

Introduction

This document sets out KitMapper’s commitment to understanding the potential impact of modern slavery in the area in which it works and our duties under the Modern Slavery Act of 2015.

This statement sets out KitMapper’s values and aims and will be at the heart of all activities undertaken by KitMapper’s staff team and Board.

Statement

KitMapper does not fit the criteria required by the Modern Slavery Act of 2015 to publish a Modern Slavery Statement. Despite this it is one of our fundamental values to conduct our business fairly, ethically and with respect to fundamental human rights. We will not tolerate any form of Modern Slavery, in our business or in our supply chains.

Preventing Modern Slavery in our business

We carry out appropriate checks on all employees, and suppliers, so that we know who is working for us or on our behalf.

We give every employee a written employment contract, and he or she is paid in accordance with the law. Our freelance staff are paid for all hours worked, at or above market rate for their work, and we are an accredited Living Wage employer. We comply with our legal obligations to ensure the health and safety of all of our employees and workers, including in relation to working hours, rest breaks and holidays, and are accredited by SafeContractor, audited annually.

The majority of our suppliers do not fit the criteria required by the Modern Slavery Act of 2015 to publish a Modern Slavery Statement. If one of our suppliers was found to have Modern Slavery in their business, or knowingly in their supply chain, we would terminate our contract with them immediately.

We do not supply any goods included in the US Department of Labor’s List of Goods Produced by Child Labor or Forced Labor. Despite being provided by a US government department, this is widely regarded as the most up to date and relevant global list available.

KitMapper and our supply chains do not use or supply any conflict minerals.

In the UK a company is required to publish a Modern Slavery Statement if it:

• is a ‘body corporate’ or a partnership, wherever incorporated or formed
• carries on a business, or part of a business, in the UK
• supplies goods or services, and
• has an annual turnover of £36 million or more.

KitMapper is not required to publish a Modern Slavery Statement, but assessment of risk and responsibility for Modern Slavery is carried out as part of our daily activities and due diligence, and our requirement to publish a statement is assessed annually along with the annual assessment of all of our policies required by law. Responsibility for our policies falls to Ryszard Lewandowski, Deputy Director.

Modern Slavery Action Plan

Monitoring and Implementation

KitMapper’s Deputy Director will be responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring the policy.

KitMapper’s members of staff will assist the Deputy Director in developing, implementing and monitoring the Modern Slavery Policy.

KitMapper’s Head of Operations will be responsible for determining when the company reaches the legal criteria to publish a full statement.

Related Policies

This policy should be read in conjunction with all other organisational policies and procedures which may be used to monitor and improve equality and inclusion throughout KitMapper’s activities.

Review

Using the development of an action plan, outcomes will form a baseline for the effectiveness of this policy. The plan and associated arrangements will be reviewed annually by the Staff Team and Board, taking into consideration any changes in legislation.
