The National Saturday Club gives 13 to 16 year olds free weekend classes at universities, colleges and cultural institutions across the UK, and every July their work goes on show at Somerset House. KitMapper has delivered the AV and technical production for the Summer Show every year since 2023.
Every summer
We plan the AV around the exhibition designers' layouts, then supply and install screen and headphone listening points for the Clubs' film work, a looping screening room, projection and audio. For the Private View we provide staging, PA and microphones, technicians stay on through the public weekend, and each show ends with a written handover and de-install.
2023
In the Embankment Galleries we built the AV room: timber display structures faced in Xanita carrying nineteen screens with headphones, alongside a screening room, projection and banners hung throughout the galleries.
2026
By 2026 the show had grown into a trail through the Great Arch Hall, River and Lancaster Rooms and East Wing: 21 AV elements across four zones, including eighteen 4K screens, sixty headphones, a gobo projection and a screening room, with a Private View event in the Seamen's Hall.
