It is always a pleasure to support work where technical delivery genuinely shapes how an audience experiences the piece. For Fevers by James Richards at Sylvia Kouvali, KitMapper provided and installed a native 4:3 aspect-ratio Christie Digital Systems projector alongside the exhibition's sound system.
Why the projector mattered
For artists' moving-image work, the right projector is never simply a question of brightness or resolution. It is about proportion, texture, depth and the relationship between image and room. Here, the 4:3 format was integral to the work's presence, allowing the film to sit with the focus and balance it deserved, adapted carefully to the gallery's architecture.
Technical production is not separate from artistic experience. Done well it becomes almost invisible — but that invisibility is hard won. Fevers was on view at Sylvia Kouvali, 12a Bourdon Street, London W1K 3PG.
